Assessment and Treatment Matching

Assessment of patients undergoing alcohol withdrawal requires a comprehensive history, examination, investigations and collateral history (described in Chapter 4).  

The aim is to plan appropriate treatment by establishing the diagnosis, excluding important differentials, assessing severity and understanding patient motivation.
